About us
Hi, my name is Melissa. Some of my earliest memories center on wanting to become a teacher. It’s always been a huge part of who I am—even when my only students were the small circle of Cabbage Patch dolls in my childhood bedroom. When I grew up and started working at a daycare in 2001, I realized that was exactly where I was meant to be: helping the very youngest kids discover the world in a safe and loving place.
After over a decade at A Child’s Day in Staten Island, I opened my own daycare Munchkin Manor in 2012. Running Munchkin Manor was much more than a job to me, it became my extended family. I am still in touch with so many of my former students and their parents. But as the years passed, I found myself imagining a new program that would offer toddlers the best parts of daycare a few times a week, with their parents along for the fun. Now I am thrilled to introduce Kid Ka Doodle to families in and around Flemington.
When I’m not leading circle times and squeezing out paint, I like to read and go on camping trips with my husband, Scott. I love to spend as much time as possible with my family. Now that my three children are all grown up, I run around with my nieces and nephews and just continue be a big kid myself. I look forward to making more memories with the families I will meet at Kid Ka Doodle.
